About Green Connect Farm
Green Connect is an award‑winning Wollongong social enterprise that proves fair food and fair work can go hand‑in‑hand. On an eleven‑acre former school site, the team grows organic produce, diverts waste and runs farm experiences that create paid jobs for refugees, migrants and young people. In 2024 alone they provided 177 employment opportunities, rescued 143 tonnes of waste from landfill and delivered more than 36,000 kg of fresh vegetables to the community — all while championing zero‑waste principles and regenerative farming.

Fair Food
Chemical-free produce grown through sustainable farming practices. The urban farm produces over 45 varieties of vegetables, herbs, and fruits using regenerative agriculture methods that improve soil health and biodiversity.
Fair Work
Creating meaningful employment for former refugees and young people facing barriers to work. They provide training, mentorship, and pathways to long-term employment, helping build skills and confidence in a supportive environment.
Community Programs
Weekly Veg Box deliveries connect customers directly with the farm produce, but they also offer workshops, tours, and volunteer opportunities to engage the broader community.
Through these interconnected initiatives, Green Connect is building a more sustainable local food system while addressing unemployment and environmental challenges in our community.

From 31 March 2025, Green Connect Farm broke away from parent entity Community Resources to chart its own course, concentrating entirely on fair‑food production, work‑readiness programs and community engagement, while still partnering with Community Resources’ labour‑hire and zero‑waste enterprises to create job pathways. This has also placed constraints on the time available for staff to perform administration.

Green Connect has been making a meaningful difference in our community through sustainable practices and inclusive employment.
